I work quietly and instinctively around that — anticipating what is coming next, reading the room, and knowing when to stay in the background and when a little direction will make the photograph stronger.
That might mean capturing a speaker without disrupting the room, bringing people together for a polished portrait, noticing an interaction that lasts only a few seconds, or making sure the branding, sponsors and atmosphere are properly represented.
The aim is simple: a strong, useful set of images that reflects the event properly and gives your organisation photography it can actually use.

I work across Ayrshire, Glasgow and throughout Scotland, and can travel further where required.
Do you travel?
Absolutely.
I prefer to understand the priorities rather than work from a rigid checklist, but key people, sponsors, moments and required photographs can all be agreed in advance.
Can you work from a shot list?
Yes.
For larger or multi-room events, a second photographer can be added to make sure simultaneous sessions and key moments are properly covered.
Do you photograph large conferences?
Priority images can be supplied during or immediately after the event, where required. Full gallery turnaround will be agreed in advance, usually 5 working days.
How quickly will we receive the photographs?
Yes.
Images are supplied for use across your organisation’s website, social media, press, PR, internal communications and event promotion.
Can we use the photographs for marketing and press?
Yes, when they are useful.
Most event coverage is candid and documentary, but there is often a need for a few polished group photographs: sponsors, teams, speakers, award winners, organisers, VIPs or families. I have a dedicated 'Portrait Edit' option that can be included to capture high quality portraits of attendees.
I’ll keep these efficient and well-directed so they look clean without disrupting the event.
Do you take posed group photos at events?
Yes.
For conferences, talks and panels, I’ll capture the speakers, audience engagement, room atmosphere, branding, details, networking and wider context of the event.
Good speaker photography is about timing, expression and professionalism. The images should feel credible, useful and flattering.
Do you photograph speakers and panels?
Yes.
Discretion is essential. I’m used to working quietly around ceremonies, speeches, panels, dinners, performances and formal moments.
The goal is to capture the event properly without becoming the centre of attention.
