What is your approach to wedding photography?

I’m a documentary wedding photographer based in Ayrshire, working throughout Scotland.
My approach is observational, thoughtful and unobtrusive. I don’t manufacture moments or over-direct your day. I allow it to unfold naturally, capturing the emotion, the atmosphere and the in-between moments that often matter most.

Alongside this, I create refined portraits that feel effortless rather than staged. The result is a body of work that is honest, elegant and timeless.

How would you describe your style?

Natural. Emotive. Understated.
I’m drawn to real expressions, beautiful light and quiet composition. My work balances documentary storytelling with a subtle editorial sensitivity, images that feel both authentic and beautifully considered.

Where are you based, and do you travel?

I’m based in Ayrshire on Scotland’s west coast.
I photograph weddings across:
• Ayrshire
• Glasgow
• Edinburgh
• Loch Lomond
• The Scottish Highlands
• Isle of Skye
• Destination weddings across the UK and Europe

Scotland offers extraordinary landscapes and ever-changing light. I’m very comfortable working within both, whether that’s a coastal celebration in Ayrshire or an intimate Highland gathering.

Are you a full-time professional wedding photographer?

Yes.
Wedding photography is my full-time profession. I take on a limited number of weddings across Scotland each year to ensure every couple receives a highly personal, attentive experience.

From first enquiry to final delivery, everything is handled with care and intention.

Have you photographed at our venue before?

Perhaps — but it isn’t essential.
Understanding light, atmosphere, and people is far more important than knowing a floor plan. I arrive prepared, I observe quickly, and I adapt instinctively to each environment.

Some of the most compelling images are created in spaces I’ve never seen before.


Do you pose couples?

I don’t believe in heavy posing or long, staged sessions.
During portraits, I offer gentle direction — just enough to create beautifully composed images while keeping everything relaxed and natural. You won’t be asked to perform or hold uncomfortable poses.

The aim is for you to feel present in your day, not removed from it.
